Getting Ready for W2s and Other Year End Tax Forms
Although three months remain before you need to prepare W2s, here are some things you can do now to get ready.
Voiding Payroll Direct Deposits
Voiding a payroll direct deposit is not much different from voiding a payroll check. Before you begin, you will need to know the Payroll # assigned to the payroll in which the direct deposit was created. Good places to locate this are either your Payroll Register or your Payroll Check Register. Once you have obtained this, go to Payroll, Processing, Payroll Adjustments. Click on the Void button. Enter the Employee’s ID number. Check # to be entered is 0 for any direct deposit you void. When you enter the check # of 0, you will then be asked for the Payroll #. After entering the Payroll #, click Ok and all of the fields will be automatically populated with the amounts from the original direct deposit processing but will have a minus sign in front of them. Review the screen and if you concur these are the correct amounts, click on the Save Void button. Repeat these steps for each direct deposit you need to void. After all voids have been processed thru the Payroll Adjustment screen, you may continue with the remainder of the Payroll, Processing screen. When Preparing Payroll, be sure to answer Yes to the question asking if you have any Adjustments. To confirm these voids have been included in the payroll process, review your Payroll Register where you should see these appear as PADJ’s. If you do not intend to reissue these voids, do not forget to also void the timesheet. Limited Sponsorship Opportunities

RLSS Supplement #833 EDA Semi-Annual Reporting
September 30 will be the end of another EDA Semi-annual reporting period. To help you report to EDA, we have Supplement #833 EDA Semi-annual Reporting available to create a three page worksheet in the exact same format required for EDA reporting. This easy to use supplement requires you to enter your agency’s contact information and award numbers, select your funding source(s) and period ending date and click on Print. Your reporting worksheet is prepared in a matter of minutes by using information in the RLSS database. Data is moved from the database into a Microsoft Excel template. This data is pulled from the Loan Master file and includes pertinent information related to loan status, job creation/retention, usage of funds, and loan type. The loan’s history is reviewed for disbursement and loan balance figures.
Because an Excel spreadsheet format is used, data can be edited and additional information added prior to reporting to EDA. This is especially important as some information is not tracked within the RLSS program such as number of applications and Capital Utilization.
If you wish to purchase this supplement, the price is:
1-2 Users $300 and $45.00 annual license/maintenance
3-4 Users $350 and $52.50 annual license/maintenance
1-2 Users $410 and $61.50 annual license/maintenance
Feel free to contact GMS staff if you have questions. Orders may be placed via our website at
